Anyone with 400hp running true duals? Any gains?
I decided to forget about the 4 inch exhaust and am thinking of running 3 inch mandrel bent true duals. Have any of you experienced, seen or read about true duals vs. 3 inch single catback. I Thought about a 4 with a bullit muffler but the idea of have a huge single sticking out of my rear end bothers me. LEt me know. I have already sold my off road Y and now am trying to sell a nearly new Magnaflow stainless steel catback.

A three inch dual would be fine. Just make sure the X-Pipe or Cross Over Pipe and other pipes are 3 inches too. I have a 3 incher on a stock car with all the boltons. Cheers.

I read in Chris Enders' book "LS1/LS6 Performance" the reason why there is no aftermarket true duals exhaust for f-baodies is because ground clearence is a real problem, hope that helps, that's all I've got.

THe tendency to bottom out is further up on the Y so if you run a 3 inch Y anyways you still have that problem. Is there clearance issues over the rear axle. I wnat to do this on Monday or Tuesday.

I have 3" duals w/ x-pipe. It's wonderful on stock internals, loud as **** with a big cam. You won't gain any power over dual cutouts. If you aren't concerned with getting max street performance (weight and slight hp difference through mufflers), stick with the catback and get dual cutouts in the y-pipe a little ways behind the collectors.

I really dont want to have to open up the cut out eveytime I want to race but I also don't want it that load. What's a quite muffler to run that still flows well.
