Default Cutout vs. LM1

I have a cutout with a flowmaster muffler on my SS right now and of course it is a lot louder and runs a little better now that I added the cutout. But how much more hp will i gain to get the LM1 system and how much louder will it be?

ware do you have the cutout? do you have headers and a catted y or an off road y?

Few hp LM1 is just a straight through muffler aka resonator. Basically like a cutout there will be some gain because exhaust still does go through your choke master muffler.

I have Eldebrock shorty headers bolted up to the rest of the stock exhaust but i hollowed out the cats and I have the cutout right before it Y's in the rear.

I have an LM1 and i can say that it is definatly desighned for stock header/Y piped car, cuz with my wide open pipes it gets raspy, im actually swapping mufflers very soon (just the resonator). I think that theres not a point of doing what you wanto do because youll make more h/p through the cutout anyway, because its befor the exaust. Unless the flowmaster muffler is befor the cutout. Then yes the resonator flows better.

So maybe I could have 3" ran to replace the factory exhaust?

I have LT headers, a custom catted Y and a Flomaster 1 chamber muffler in the back, all 3" pipe. Doesnt sound bad, but I think the tips they put on are cheap and vibrate making a shitty sound at some RPMS.

I am debating a exhaust system overhaul, but I want to change the tips first and see if that helps.

In your case, I would look into a Borlamouth or a Dynomouth. Many have said that the LM1 is just too damn loud. If you want as loud as you can get.....then LM1 maybe your best bet

i honestly would just stick with the cut out, not worth 2-3 rwhp
