Default mac mid, ory, dynomouth

I will be putting my dynomouth exhaust on in the coming week. I also got a sweet deal on mac mid and an ory. Is this setup going to be rediculously loud? It is a DD so it has to be manageable. Should I put cats in the ory? Stock cats? Or other? Thanks...

If your putting a bullet type muffler on, yes it will be crazy loud with headers and ory. Screw the cats just put on a real muffler.

everyones level of manageable is different, think about it. Some people drive open headers and love it, others think an ORY is too loud. Personally, I dont think your setup will be too bad, especially since you dont even have LTs, but mids. I run LTs, ORY and catback with a cutout right after the ORY and with it open, I still drive all day just fine. I got used to the sound because at first I thought it was rediculous but then I just got used to it and its sex to my ears.

It will definitely be louder than what you've got now. Not too loud on a DD IMO.

I think you will like the way it sounds with or without the cats.....I have magnaflow for now and I love the way it sounds. I run Mac's/ORY and to me it's not loud really at all until you get into it. If you want it louder put a cutout on, if it's too loud put some cats in. BTW if you have any trouble with the installation of the Mac's let me know....I had everything that could possibly go wrong happen to me when I installed mine.

Sounds good...what did you have to take out to install?
Did you put them in through the bottom(im assuming).

I'm running macs, slp dual's and no cats. Definitely manageable. I actually like to open the cutout to give it some more tone. lol

Passenger side through the top...drivers side through the bottom. Make sure you pull your coil packs off and take out your spark plugs. I had to cut the block tab off on drivers side and also grind down the fat part of the steering shaft because one of the runners was rubbing on it. Alot of people say that mac's are easy to install, but it didn't turn out that way for me. I thought they were a complete pain in the @#$ to install. I unbolted the motor mounts also and lifted the engine a bit for clearance.

That's what I hear too, that the LT's are alot easier to put in than the Mac's and then you have some say the opposite. I had it rough to say the least.

ok guys so i put the dynomouth in and it sounds pretty badass...i was reading in the archives that if you ditch the ball and socket joints that the mac mids and ory uses, it reduces rasp 95%? Anyone have any experience with this? My biggest concern is not having any rasp....help is appreciated

Mine has slight rasp to it, but i like a little raspy.....I run ory, so if you put cats on it even with the ball flanges it won't be raspy. I prefer ball flanges and don't see how it would cause any rasp whatsoever. The merge in the y pipe is where alot of people have modded and changed it to a flowmaster merge. I have heard it cuts alot of rasp out of the sound with a cleaner merge.
