i ordered my pacesetter ory today so im gonna be putting my headers on prolly next week. im just wondering what kind of hp gains ill make. pacesetter lt's and slp loudmouth

starting with bone stock exhaust

LTs, ory pipe, LM cat back....25hp easily...

everyone overinflates the gains from LTs...just cause a couple guys gained 30hp with an install.

but the more common gain is 15-20hp...

you should notice it...and the sound

yeah i cant wait for the sound. ive seen that a lot of people on here dont like this setup cause it too loud.

SLP Lid, QTP Headers, TSP True Duals --- 348 RWHP, 362 LB/tq

(Stock rated 305 RWHP i believe) im not sure if they rated that with an LS1 intake manifold or the LS6 because after 00 they ran LS6s on every TA, but those are the gains i saw. I estimate probably around 30 for me.. but my QTPs have HVMC(high velocity merge collectors) Which are debated upon adding a decent bit of power due to the way the exhaust spins in your pipes. X - Pipe is the way to go though, best flow other than a cutout

where did you get the 305hp rating? if its the "stock" factory rating...that is measured at the motor.
but we all know the ls1 was underrated.

figure the average ls1 made 290-300rwhp stock.

ls6 intake - 10hp
lid - 10hp
LTs - 15
true duals - 15

so i'd say you're about right...maybe a little higher than average...could be a liberal dyno.

horsepower gains, around 22 @ the wheels
sounds like ****-o-meter gains, about +4k @ the ears

you'll think you like it for a little while, but then you drive daily or for an extended period of time and you'll say, WTF?!

Had the TSP TD's on the car - driving it for extended periods resulted in a headache - swapped over to a 3" y-pipe and Magnaflow rear exit and it's much more livable in the car and sounds great even though I did lose a little power. If I do go back to the TD's, I will change the dumps to exit at a 45 degree side angle instead of straight down.
