Default Header Ground Clearance???

Hello All,

I've tried searching for this information, however couldn't seem to find it all in one thread.

This weekend a driveway tore my headers and off-road y-pipe up. I currently have Hooker Long-Tubes and off-road y-pipe. The car is still at the stock ride height, so I really can't blame it on a drop! For the most part, the Hookers seem to be regarded as one of the best headers from a ground clearance standpoint, however it now seems quite clear that it still wasn't good enough. Aside from trading the SS for a Hummer, do you guys have any suggestions that might help out with header and ORY ground clearance?

I've been searching around on this site and am currently debating between the new TSP 1 7/8" stainless headers or a budget set of coated Pacesetters. Most of the Kooks owners seem pleased with their headers, however I would (ideally) like to avoid spending $1K+ on headers and ORY.

Thanks!

LOL, I'm in the same boat... Looking to swap out my SLP LT's for ANYTHING with better clearence... Have scrapped on just about anything and cross my fingers everytime I come up to a speed bump... I want to lower the car as I'm about to get rims, but that's not happening as i'm already 2" from the ground, stock ride height.

My Pacesetter headers are the highest part of my exhaust and have never even come close to touching anything.

Car is stock height also

When I had my Hooker headers, I had no ground clearance issues and I was lowered 1.5". When I had my SLP headers it was a different story...they hung down a pipe and a half lower than the Hookers and as you can imagine ....they hit quite often.
Sorry too hear of your misfortune but it sounds a little odd to me.

ARH are what I run.. They have better than stock clearance, but they aren't cheap.
