Default Stainless exhaust we made this weekend

Its all 304 stainless, you can see 3 different finishes. Basically two differnent mill finishes, polished muffler, cutout, and tip. American Racing 4" Y-pipe, 4" QTP E-cut out, reduced to 3.5", 3.5" dynomax 6" round race muffler, reduced into 3" in/3.5" out double wall slash tip. All tig welded.

Nice looking exhaust thats for sure!

Why all the reductions in sizes though. Kinda defeats the purpose of the 4" pipe. Could be wrong though.

Yes there are reasons. I have my 4" Y-pipe outlet carried to the cutout, thats for the power. Something else that you may think is restrictive isnt all that bad. As exhaust gases get further back from the engine they reduce in size very quickly. So reducing helps to speed back up the flow. The 3" at the rear of the car is almost equal to the 4" up front when you consider contraction. I drove it alittle today, but had to pull the heads back off and tinker alittle bit. I will try and get some sound clips later in the week, but with the cut out closed, it sounds very crisp........just alittle rasp. Cutout open, sounds about like the world is coming to an end.

Hmmm. Something tells me that looks similar to a 4" setup you used to have that I put on my old Z28. That tip was HUGE! But props on this setup Brandon. Looks pimpdaddy!

Yeah, its similar to that one. Only this one has more time making sure joints fit right, ALOT more money in parts, and looks way better. I always end back up with the same type setup. Duals are not for me.

Thanks for the compliments. I weld and fabricate commercially for a living. This small tube isnt really my thing, but I am ok. A buddy of mine worked with me on the fit up to make sure it was dead on. Got the heads, intake, and headers back on tonight. I have a few issues that are hopefully fixed. We are planning alittle road trip this weekend. Hopefully can get Pwebb to get some video outside the car so you can hear it with and without the cutout open.
