Default SLP LM Install Question: Muffler Only?

Hey guys. I'm gonna be low on money after I buy the things I NEED for the car.. I was planning on just replacing the muffler on the car. I was looking at the loudmouth muffler/resonator and noticed it was just one inlet and one outlet. Does this go in place of the stock muffler location or is it right after the cat? I think i'm missing something and i'm kind of confused. Is there a way to just swap out the muffler I have now and put in the LM?

Ah, I figured. So it just goes after the cat and then piping back to where the stock muffler WAS, but just goes to the tail pipes correct?

Just wanted to ask, how do you like your magnaflow? How was it w/o the headers at first. Those are my two choices, SLP LM and magnaflow.

Yeaa it goes in the I pipe, your just gonna throw out your muffler, and piping will go in its place. the SLP LM would probably be placed at around where your backseats are located.

the muffler will go behind the passenger seat....as far as the magnaflow goes i love it...i got it for a great price, it is built extremely well and is all stainless, as far as sound with the stock mani's and cats it was very quiet almost stockish sounding....i got lontubes with an ory and removed the cats and it woke it up a bit, still not crazy loud but it has a nice deep tone to it, however still not loud enough for me which is why as soon as i get the chance im gnna get an electric cut-out, best of both worlds then....are u planning on headers in the near future?

Well i'm picking up the car in a week I presume, so i'm planning on having it for awhile. Eventually, i'll probably look at some headers. I heard the LM I isnt good with headers, laot of people put the LMII in instead. I'm looking for loud, so.. Is it possibly to just slip the LM in the pipe, then just put another pipe in place of the old muffler? This way I dont have to pay for all new pipes lol. I don't want it to look sloppy either, so..

well if u want loud and arent gnna get headers soon thn ya def go for the lm, the magnaflow especially on stock manifolds sounds like it would b 2 quiet for u....personally i would just by the whole lm system, but if moneys an issue than yes u can buy the muffler the lm1 will b louder thn the lm2, u can get the muffler place in the i-pipe and have the exhaust shop cut the old muffler out and just replace it with pipes, but wht r u gnna do with the tips? keep stock tips? or buy aftermarket ones?

It's not that the LM1 isnt good with Header's, it's just that it's even more loud and sometimes unbearable to some ppl. the LM2 can be just as loud @ WOT as the LM1 but it's a bit quieter as to say on a cruise. I think you would go great with the LM2, since you do want it to be loud but probably not to damn loud as you would get with the LM1 with LongTubes.

I'm not sure what i'd do with the tips. The car already has an aftermarket muffler so idk if the tips are aftrmarket already. Does anything besides the size of the tips matter?

well the car isnt mine yet, i'm expecting to have it next week.. But the dealer told me it's aftermarket. It's dual outlet. I just don't know what kind it is.. I don't care about the tips really, the car has just a pipe on each side. I don't need the dual/dual or anything fancy like that.

Yea, if you havent heard it. Give it a listen, you may or may not like what you hear. Since you dont really care for the look of tips, just get turn downs and tuck them up there well to conceal them.
