great dependable engine...

but you can build a more powerful one for the same amount of money... basically your buying a piece of mind if you plan on staying with a stock ls6 engine from GM

I wouldn't buy a crate engine, way to much money. I would look for a nice low mileage engine, doesn't matter if it's a truck engine or f-body or whatever, but I would stick with either a 5.7/6.0
If you get a truck engine, you can get those for pretty cheap. Get one of those and then you would have a good bit of money to put into it.

How many miles are on your car? 300,000? Just keep up with the normal maintenance and it will be fine.

Unless you plan on blowing it up with nitrous or forced induction.

You could get a GM crate LS6 for 3k from Crate Engine Depot. Not sure about now? It was part #89017653.

great engine, with great heads that you can always add a more aggressive cam to and a good intake manifold to handle hp increases
