16 volts to much out of the alternator?
The alternator is running at 15.5-16 volts, is that to high?
This is in a stand alone car and I screwed up and ran 12v to pin B without a bulb for about 50 miles on the dyno, now I have a light in line and the light goes on then off when started as it's suppose to do.
Also the dyno guy jumpered 12v from the battery and left it on over the weekend. With things not running will that +on hurt anything? What does that pin B 12v do. Am I toast or is 16 acceptable.

12.5 volts is noraml during charging cycle. ive seen as much as 13 volts in that cycle. however 15-16 volts is way too much . you will fry your harness and a perhaps some electronics in the car running it that way for any extended period of time.

nah, it will be fine. In car audio the industry standard "alternator charge voltage" is 14.4, which is why they generally rate amps at 12v and 14.4. If the car is running fine I see no reason to worry. Though i would definately remedy the problem.
