Default Intake... LS1 vs. LS6

Sure this has been gone over but i'm a lil lazy today...

Is it worth it for me to switch my LS1 intake to a LS6 or wait awhile to save for a FAST LSX?

I'm putting on LS2 heads with new springs and lt headers/ory within the next couple weeks, THEN going to put in the FM14 cam, and THEN getting it tuned at speed inc.

thanks

I'm feeling lazy as well so I won't explain why.

I just swapped mine recently, it seemed like a noticeable gain. I already had 350 rwhp, I am interested to see what I put down with the intake, although I dont wanna pay to get it dynoed again lol.

+1 for a switch. i am happy with what i picked up. i need some lts though to finish things up! if you are going to go bigger cubes you may want to hold out for the fast. ls6 is good for 425+.

The LS6 is definitely worth the gain, and if you decide to upgrade to a FAST later, no big deal. You can buy an LS6 intake used for $300-350 and then sell it for the same when you're done with it.

That's what's nice about them. And there's guys out there making a LOT of power with them. I have an LS6 on my F14 cam setup.

I don't have n2o numbers, but it made 395/387. That was with my n2o plugs in, not sure if there was any more in it with a hotter plug. I love the F14, great cam.

Still sporting the(stock for a GTO) LS6 .. I couldn't justify the price of a fast 450/420... Above 6K it is choking the motor but it dosn't die off it just hold steady to 6800

The dyno showed a 7 hp gain at the rear wheels with the LS6 when I swapped out the LS1 intake on my 2000.

With my bolt ons, I gained 17rwhp/16rwtq through the whole band. Awesome mod! Cheap and easy install.
