Question Difference in bullet style mufflers

I am looking to buy a LMI muffler. But what are the difference between LMI, LMII, Borla XR-1, Flo-Pro Twister, Sweet Thunder, Dynomax, Power Stick.............

or i can buy this one from Summit. Looks like all the above

I think the packing material inside the muffler is what separates them. BTW the LM bullet is loud as hell!!!!

its the inside as stated above. LM1 is just a hollow pipe. im installing the Magnaflow this weekend ill post some pics of it. its got small pits inside that trap the sound and make it sound great. if you have LTs or gonna get LTs i probably wouldnt get the LM1. i thought i could handle it and at times it does sound awesome but 1st and 2nd gear and part of 3rd its raspy as hell! raspy as in sounds like an old beat up truck than a muscle car. but if you want a used one im probably getting rid of mine..

I have TDs and a cam with LTs. I am going back a custom Y and GMMG c/b. i am running catless so i was wondering what bullet to stick after the merge to quiet the rasp down a bit. I have had the MagnaFlow MagnaPack mufflers on with my X pipe before as well and my mustang.

How much you want for your LMi muffler?

Put a powerstick muffler in the ipipe since youre getting the chambered catback.

cuz its the least restrictive that will actually give some tone.

LM probably isnt gonna do much, ST necks down to 2.75" core, flopro looks restrictive, dynomax would work but the powerstick will probably sound better.

THe best way to get rid of rasp would be to run a pair of mufflers in the ypipe if you can get them to fit. Powerstick is only 3.5" diameter so you might be able to squeeze in a pair.

when i first got my exhaust done for my true duals it was 2 2.5" pipes coming off my headers goin into 2 LM1's before dumping before the axle and holy **** that was loud!!!! well i took it back after 2 weeks and had a crossover pipe put in to make it an H-pipe and that quieted it down abit but made it a deeper tone. i know have the pipes coming out the back under axle and i think it sounds awesome! i'm not runnin cats either. i'll admit yeah it's raspy at times but not raspy like an old farmers truck IMO

do you have a cut out?
from what i have gathered the moroso sprail flow is the quietest bullet. i had long tubes, ory and a slp loud mouth II cat back could be tame but it was still loud. im trying a new idea, y-pipe, then cut out, the the sprial flow, then 3" over the axle. not sure if adding a 2nd bullet (sprial flow) would tone it down more)

Like I've already mentioned as well as dug, the powerstick. It's a bullet style chambered muffler. The 3" version flows 2k+ CFM....Thats more than enough Not only will it add to your chambered sound but it will take care of any rasp issues as well.

Now if you're looking for a stainless steel bullet that will flow well (1300+ cfm) but also tone things down a bit then the Borla XR-1 will do the job.
