Default would new ceramic headers mess up o2's???

i just ordered some pacesetter ceramic long tubes and ORY and i heard from some people that you must let the ceramic in the header break. if the o2's are in during the break in the o2 will be damaged from the harmful fumes. is this true?? so should i disconnect the front o2's and run open loop mode for a few heat cycles?? thanks guys

Correct. The Ceramic will burn off some, that can cause the o2's to go bad. Chances arent high tho. But it could do it. As for running in open loop, not sure. But the car would run like ****, and itll take some time to burn off. Also since your doing an ORY you will need the rear o2's tuned out, that gives you an extra pair right there.

forgive me, but they are ceramic COATED? Doesnt that mean the outside of the header? If so, then your O2 sensors will be fine...

No, most quality headers are coated on the inside too.

Even if the inside of the headers weren't coated and only the outside was, the 400+ degree temperatures they'd reach would initially burn the outside, too, just not as severely.

I wouldn't worry about the O2's. If you left the O2's out to break in the headers, the amount of gas mileage you'd lose at $4 a gallon would be able to buy you a new set of O2's
