The stock thermostat is gone, and all I have in the upper neck is the required SB Chevy thermostat. Napa is where I got mine...

Like has been said, SBC fits the Meziere. But don't get the Mr Gasket brand cuz it won't fit.

Are Meziere pumps reliable enough for a daily driver?

Mine has been reliable but money might be better spent elsewhere IMO. It sure is a nice looking item.

Yes, you need to take it out and check.. But also, the SBD t-stat came in 2 versions. A 160* and either a 180 or 190* stat.

Look on yours and make sure its a 160*. I would even throw it in a pot of hot water to verify its opening at 160*, as well as opening 100%

I used a Stant 160 degree sbc tstat, no holes drilled, car runs at 159degrees. Just make sure the coolant system has air bubbles out of it.
