V8 Firebird vs. Trans AM

V8 Firebird vs. Trans AM
Basically I found a car that I strongly believe was origonally a firebird, and swapped in an ls1 and 6 speed. You can tell by the photos that it does not have the raised spoiler and it says firebird on the doors instead of Trans Am. Aside from cosmetic differences, what would be different about the two cars. And is it worth purchasing at this price. Please give feed back asap
Thanks - David

Well if you are refering to the yellow print on the side of the car, I assure you that it says firebird, I have driven the car, and have other photos I could upload. Additionally it has a WS6 tag on the back, so if it is a formula, did they ever make a formula WS6? Just seems like BS to me.

Ok, I guess what my question really comes down to would be. Is there any difference between a firebird and trans am, aside from the obvious engine, tranny, and cosmetics. Is the suspension different, I don't know?!?! I assume there is no rev limiter or anything silly like that. Just curious if I would be screwed if it turned out to be a V6 made into a V8 instead of the straight up factory built Trans Am.

Can you repost the link, I can't see the car!
Look at the inside of the driver's side door, there will be all sorts of codes on there to tell you what that car really was when it came off the line.
