Exhaust coatings worth it????
I have some new ASM long tube headers for a truck, I am contemplating a Jet -Hot coating, or something similar. Just wondering what everyones experiences is with this stuff and is it worth $300 to do. All input related appreciated. Thanks!
If the headers are NOT stainless steel then coat them. Mild steel headers will rust and do not retain heat well. Coating mild steel will protect from rust and keep the heat in the tubes which mean hotter exhaust gases. Hotter gases move faster then cold exhaust.

The ASM headers already have a HPC Ceramic coating inside and out.
Here is some information on the coating that is used. This should answer any questions. They provide a lifetime guarantee against subsurface rust and corrosion.

I had jet hot coat the head pipes on my VTR1000. I have had it installed for over a year and still looks good. Lowered the surface temperature tremendously. My legs don't get barbecued when I am riding now.
