An 8rwhp gain over hand ported TB sounds good. I assume the 2001 TA you tested had the LS6 intake manifold and 98-00 cars wouldn't quite gain that much.

All the more reason to bolt on more goodies.

Then we put on one of our hand ported and showed no overall power differance between the un-ported one, then the CNC patterend tb showed 8 rwhp gain....car was tuned with the stock un-touched tb to begin and we did no tuning until after the testing was done. There are now dozens of these out there in use so we are hoping to see more unrelated shops post their results.
a stock 2001 TA? thanks for the info and if this is so do you do the bump stop mod or any of the other tb mods?

I'm very interested.

For those of us who DD our cars, do we have to just buy a whole new TB from you guys that comes ported by you? How does that go?

Yes it had a LS6 intake on it & a SLP lid plus long-tubes.

All come with the bumpstop mod standard.

You can pay the $50 core charge & send yours in afterwards for a refund.

wow so this was a bolt on car basically what mine will have, thats pretty impressive! still want to hear from some members that have it on theirs first, cuz i have a few months till ill be looking for one. so just to get it straight, cnc ported with the bumpstop mod only, no other like half shaft and knife edging the blade etc.

Correct. We have not found a noticeable improvement by knife edging the blade, but the 1/2 shaft is an option.

Oh, wow. So it's just $180 to order one of your TB's without shipping one out first?

Correct, but we are running short on cores so don't want to do to many like that.

I was just rereading this thread from last month. Maybe I missed something. It would be nice to see dyno results against a STOCK tb (like mine ;-) rather than one like below that's already hand ported.

I'll be sending you mine next month when I get back to the US.

Thanks

i would like to see a stock dyno then a back2back on the hand ported then another back2back on the cnc......all within the same hour.....everyone hear knows how a dyno can vary and how shitty some hand ported stuff can flow.....

ive seen guys claim to pickup 7=12 rwhp off a hand ported tb....this is saying the cnc tb will gain anywhere from 15-22 rwhp over stock.....i just dont see it you can only suck so much through a 75mm opening....

im not bashing this thread or product by any means the cnc work looks great however id like to see a little more testing...

Claims that a hand ported pick up that much would be just that....claims. We have been porting OEM throttle bodies for the past 6 years & put out some of the nicest work out there, and have yet to see any MEASUREABLE RWHP gains from hand porting that we could verify. Very noticeable low end throttle response yes, power no. This is obvious when you look at the offset bore of the stock units. The amount of turbulence created from the different slped sides is the issue....and Pete's CNC design pattern is what "straightens" the flow out to increase the volumetric efficiency. Something the smooth finish of hand porting cannot accomplish.

Yes, the LS2 is finished....just waiting for the final testing before they are ready to ship. We have both Y & F body CNC units in stock.....but we are short on cores so your core is a must.

So the surface texture re-directs the airflow? That would be quite revolutionary. Maybe they should try that on cars to improve fuel economy.
