Default Too dump, or not too dump?

Looking at getting some true duals and I'm considering some different options. I might get the TSP True Duals and I know they are dumped. My question is, what do you think sounds betters? Dumped? Or extended out to the rear? This won't be my daily driver and I'm looking for better sound and good flow, and decent clearance on my lowered car. My y-pipe hangs pretty low as it sits, about 2 inches from the floorboard, so I'm used to being careful over bumps. It's too hard to tell with the sound in some videos, but they both sound pretty good.

Nice thanks I dont think I heard your setup dumped. I'll take a listen. I know it might sound like it's vibrating the car but that's just because the exhaust is shooting out literally right underneath you!

I don't know man I think the idle sounds better with the dumps. Didn't really get any revs but the dumps are pretty mean, but there doesn't like a HUGE difference. It's nice to see the same car with both setups so it's easier to compare.

If you go with dumps, don't point them straight down - angle them off to each side at about 45* - that way you get the sound without the headache.

Thats is because you use Flowmaster 1 chambers. I had them Dumped at the axle on my car with turndowns angled outward and it was horribly loud inside the car and resonated soo bad I could not hear my radio or talk to the person next to me. Since then I've gone to Sweet thunders dumped and there is almost no interior resonance but its still very loud.

regardless... I vote dumped. imo.. Tips look horrible on Camaro's unless we are talking CME.

I had mine dumped for a while (flowmaster super 44's)in my experience there are two things that make the sound of the car. 1. length of tailpipe, 2. location of muffler. IMO it sounds much better dumped, but the interior resonance is absolutely crazy, and you will reveal every hidden squeak and rattle in your car. One thing you can do to gain some of that sound back and still have tailpipes is to put the mufflers in the stock muffler location. I have mine double stacked right where the stock muffler was and a good amount of that raw sound is back now, even with the tailpipes.

What about getting them dumped right before the rear axle. I know a lot of people dump them a lot earlier and then the exhaust is shooting right out underneath them. If you by the rear axle I would think that is far enough back. I have seen people basically just stick the mufflers to the headers LOL

I agree with Magius, get the TSP kit but run them to the back like he did. You can flange them at the dumps to make removal easier. That way you can have them dumped and loud when you want that or make them quiet too. Here's a link to his thread:

i used to love my SLP dual/dual tips. i though the back looked naked without any tips. but i dualed mine out bc i wanted to hear the exhaust, and feel it. i got what i wanted. its dumped about a foot and a half before the rear axle. everything vibrates on start up. its great. now im used to the no tip look, and when you pass someone they kinda look for the tips and they arent there.
