Hooker headers suck!
This is a warning to all hoping to save money and get Hooker headers. This is what I did and I hate mine. It is damn near impossible to get the passenger side 02 in with the fuel line and heat shield there. They rust bad, even with Jet-Hot coating (this is not Hookers fault, though). They have shitty primary welds, and I can't get anything to seal well to their collectors. Save your money for decent headers, like QTPs or Kooks.

I have never had a problem with mine either...Install was good, with no clearance issues...I think they are the best bang for the buck and they perform really well...Just my .02...

Re: Hooker headers suck!
My brother and I installed my Hookers today in about 4 1/2 hours. Was the first time for either of us to install headers on an LS1 (my silver 2002 Camaro Z28) and had no problems.
Hey Z-Rated, nice Silver 02 Z28. Thought that undercarriage pic looked somewhat familiar after today.

I like mine as well, I took some tin snips and cut a little triangle to get the o2 sensor to fit better. From my experience nothing ever fits perfect but these are not to bad.

Re: Hooker headers suck!
I've had mine for a long time, they perform well for the money, but I wouldn't buy them again.
BTW, I did mean driver side 02, not passenger side like I put. I've bent the heat shielding all kinds of ways, and it's still a bitch to get it in.

Re: Hooker headers suck!
I'm happy with my set. Although I am fairly dissappointed in their choice of clamps for the system. Anyone getting these should go to napa and get 3 of the stainless steel band clamps (they say easy seal on the top). Those suckers work awesome. The supplied clamps managed to put some nice dents in my ypipe and didn't seal for crap.

I was happy with mine when I had them. Sold them to a buddy and his driver's side O2 was pretty tight like yours. They seem to be louder and raspier then other headers I think too.

Re: Hooker headers suck!
My set of Hookers had the following issues:
1/4 inch gap that wasn't welded, that would have caused a bad exhaust leak.
Primaries were full of slag
O2 sensor couldn't be screwed into the hole because Hooker managed to misalign the O2 by about 1/4 of an inch.
Flanges weren't flat had to filed.
Collectors not oriented the same as other Hookers to the Y pipe has to be cut apart and welded back together to get it to work with the Hookers.
And the O2 sensor issue as mentioned above.
Hookers are a crap shoot. Their quailty control is lame. I'd not buy them again. Might give the Jet Hot's a shot or the PPC's or other quailty header would be on my list.

Re: Hooker headers suck!
Mine have been on the car since the 30 mile mark, I've got 20,000 on them in a little over a year. Done a couple of head swaps where I had to take them out and put them back in... through all of it, I don't have one complaint about them.
