Default PCV Ground Strap?

Is the so called PCV "grounding strap" needed? I got the term from ls1howto.com while reading up on the LS1 to LS6 valley cover swap. I took mine off and put a hose clamp around the rubber housing of the valve itself.

Most say it's to transfer heat from the head to keep the pcv valve warmed up and working properly. Some think it cuts down on static electricity and others thinks it's a waste of time and remove it with no side affects. You decide.

Ah, the infamous search. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Anyone tried GM's so called newer version of the PCV valve out for our cars? I see that the WS6 Store says it has this mo betta version.

And the infamous search comes to the rescue again. The so called "newer pcv valve" isn't so new, it's been out for years. First on trucks and then guys started using them on other applications. Some say it helps cut down oil consumption, some say it doesn't do squat and others claim it will blow your seals out. I have no idea. Do a search for the part number 12572717 and you'll find some good reading. And actually, it's not really a valve, it's more of an orifice.

Took my pcv out period . Cant stand hot gass and oil being recycled in my engine .
I kept the back piece to keep pressure from building up and put a breather where the oil cap goes . Also cap and plug on the intake front pass. valve cover and throttle body .
Have not had any problems just use good oil and dont skip oil changes .
