Default Which of these two setups will work best?

Well, I just found out today that the genius that made my current true dual setup completly botched the install... theres leaks everywhere, tons of rattles, its not aluminized steel so its all rusted, and my brake line is pinched over the axle... so its coming off... need a recommendation for the new setup going on...

1) dual 3 inch Y-pipe with cats to a 3.5 inch Y collector pipe, continuing 3.5 inches all the way over the axle, where it then splits off into dual 2.5 inch through Borla XS mufflers and out my CME exhaust tip... (I really want to keep the tip, thats why I paid a ton for over the axle true duals)

2) 2.5 inch true duals with cats into an X-pipe, then into whatever muffler I can fit exiting before the axle...

I really want over the axle true duals but with my lowered car it seems tough and no one wants to attempt it... current mods are LS6 crate engine, G5X2 cam, SLP LTs, bolt ons, 150 shot... What do you all reccomend and how will each sound? Im used to the perfect sound of my current setup (minus the leaks) and want it to be as close to the vette like sound it is now

is the 3.5 inch pipe going to flow a lot less than the dual 2.5s? I really wanted to avoid using a cutout alltogether because I love how it sounds now... but im scared its going to sound like a dumptruck with the duals before the axle, even though im putting cats on....

Does anyone have sound clips of dual 2.5s with cats and mufflers?

A single 3.5" pipe will outflow two 2.5" pipes.

I decided against the single 3.5, im scared of clearance over the axle... im lowered, have a stereo and 15 lb bottle in back, and constantly have stuff for work in the back... so im gonna do dual 2.5s wiht Xpipe dumping in front of the axle, with cats and borla XR1s

get 3" duals from Lane's. Mine are great...get em with dynomax bullets...or the magnaflow version if you want it a little quieter.
