Thumbs up Kooks headers installed, clearance pics

These ******* have all sorts of room, no k-member rubbing, spark plugs/wires are easy to get to, doesnt hug the starter either.
I have attached only 3 photos showing the d/s ground clearance, please note the bottle is sitting on 3/4" particle board so....you get the idea, car is stock ride height
will post more pics tomorrow night when my camera charges up

over all the install was great, This is the 4th set of headers I have installed (pacesetters/hooker & xs to name a few)

had help from my friend Bud Weiser on the driverside. installed in my garage with floor jack and stands, total install about 35mins since it was just a header swap, all of the stock **** went bye bye 2 years ago. I did use stock gaskets rather than the ones supplied by kooks, they look nice though.
the ory fits nice too, its bent in all of the right places and has good adjustability.
just thought I'd post my experience in case some of you are making the jump and buying a higher priced header setup. this will be the last set of headers i will ever install on my ride

Second picture i would suggest loosening the clamp, turning it around so the head points to the ground, and also move it up a bit more. Last thing you want is hitting something and ******* up your clamp, or even hooking something with the way the bolt points down. But nice clearance either way, alot better than my 1st gen. SLP LTs.

I felt the same way about mine (and all the other kooks headers I have installed). I just wish they made the SS Y-pipe when I bought mine.

I read a lot of header install threads prior to purchasing my Kooks and was really surprised by how simple the install went. Didn't have to unhook the steering shaft, cut or grind the K-member or anything else for that matter.

thats why i went w/ Kooks. and like already stated they have awesome ground, k-frame, and steering shaft (doesnt even come close) clearance. angles were perfect. no collector pointing up or down. easy install. now i wish i could just get them to seal at the heads .

What gaskets are you using? I just went with a new set of stockers and they work just fine. Most people just reuse the stock ones with good luck too.

i used pearcey's first and those leaked real bad. then recently i replaced them w/ stock ones. i went back and retorqued the drivers side (becuase it was easier) and it wouldnt take anymore. im hoping the pass side just needs alittle more.

What does the y-pipe merge look like? Is it similar to the cheapo pacesetters or the velocity merge?

definately can feel a lot more lower end grunt over my previous headers. the rasp is all but gone. the merge on the y-pipe has a nice clean weld on the inside which I think takes a little of that rasp away, they took the time to clean it up at least.
thanks for the comments.
