Any gain from 1.8 rockers?
Any gain from 1.8 rockers? Is there any gain felt from upgrading to a 1.8 rocker? I am more meaning seat of the pants feel or actual time reduction instead of horsepower, I'm thinking I'd rather save and get a stroked long block eventually so I am debating just doing bolt ons and a high stall converter for now until I can afford to go all the way.
on a stock cam...figure 10-15hp.
mostly due to added lift.
realize that higher ratio rockers won't work with 95% of aftermarket cams due to the aggressive ramp rates.
so they'd be a waste if you plan to go stroker later.

I added the 1.8 Yella Terras to my 01 LS6 and got 10 hp and 12 lb of torque on a Mustang Dyno. While I was at it I upgraded to PAC 1518 springs, titanium keepers, and Comp Hi tech pushrods. Not a lot of horsepower, but now I have a lot more confidence in my valve train.

If you ever plan to do a cam they won't work with more agressive lobes as stated earlier. Save some more and get a cam and get 25+rwhp or much more depending on cam for more bang for your buck!
