Default How much to install?

I dont have the necessary equipment to get my car lifted to install a catback system, and I am moving, so all of my tools are packed away. So what does a shop usually charge to install catbacks? Also, are there any places that are better than others? And what would it cost to install headers? I know that I should really be doing this myself, and really wish I could. I just dont have the equipment now, and wont for a couple of months, and I really want to get rid of the stock catbacks. I cant stand the way it sounds!

I would say you could have it all done for under $100. I would think anyways?? Never priced a header install, but when I had my catback installed it was only like $25 or $30.

Oh okay that sounds great. I'm just going to do the catback first. It will probably be early next year before i do headers. Where did you get yours done? A local muffler shop, or a dealership, or one of the bigger maintenance chains?

Don't know about the catback install. You don't need alot of tools for headers. I installed a set on my 98' Z28 on Monday. Took me 6-8hrs by myself(no help at all!) and I took alot of breaks. A sawzall helped me get all the old stuff out

Go to AutoZone and buy a basic set of sockets/ratchet for like $25 and do it yourself! If your car is stock height you probably wouldn't even have to jack up the car.

if you buy the catback from the shop where you are having it installed i bet the guy will charge no more then $50 to slap it on since it will only take a shop with a lift 15mins to stick it on.

All you really need is a set of $20. Rhino Ramps, a hack saw, and a socket wrench. Twenty dollar investment (assuming you have access to a hack saw and socket wrench), plus you'll have the Rhino Ramps to use forever.

Oh, you need a rubber mallet too, or a hammer at the very least. And a screwdriver for the clamps, but most clamps you can use a socket too.

The install cost on headers is right around $400. Some more and some less.

Do what the other guys said. Buy a cheap *** socket set and some ramps/jacks and jackstands and install it yourself for wayyyyyyyyyy cheaper.

are you crazy?

ofcourse you need to get your car off the ground. get some rhino ramps and a few jack stands and you should have plenty of room to work under the car and slide the headers up in there. the only tools you really need im sure you can borrow from someone for the day. make sure you get a few different types of socket extensions.
