Default Quick FAST 92 install questions

The instructions for the FAST 92 say that on 98-00 F-bodies you need to replace the rear coolant vent line and use 2 plugs. My 99 SS had an LS6 intake on it when I bought it; since I already have the same intake as the 01-02s, do I need to worry about this step? Also, will stock replacement intake port seals work, or do I need a FAST specific part? Thanks in advance!

You need to look under your LS6 intake and see if the front coolant pipes are connected to the rear ones. If it does, you will need to buy the newer style crossover pipes. Its possible to run the LS6 intake on the old 'I' style coolant lines by breaking the tabs under the intake, but you cannot run a FAST intake with it. If your front coolant pipe only only runs to both cylinder heads and out the front your good. I'm not sure on the intake seals though. They looked the same to me but I didnt try it.

Use RTV on the MAP sensor in the rear when installing; it's a loose fit.

Don't do this. Just install the MAP sensor as it is...

And buy new gaskets for the intake....

Good luck

Why do you recommend not doing it?

Mine was a loose fit, no one sees the RTV in the back of the manifold. We each have our own way!
