Removing the small red wire to the alternator...

Removing the small red wire to the alternator... I would appreciate any help removing the small red wire to the alternator. If there is a clip mechanism to the connector I dont see it. As a matter of fact I cant really see much because a ground wire and wires to my front o2 pass on top of it and through my alternator bracket. I am able to move them to one side and kinda see what is there but have to hold them to the side. I tried getting a screw driver in but I am working blind.
I wish I could grab the little red bastard and give a good yank but that will shurely break the wire.
Tips please. I am giving up for tonight before I break something.

and wait for some replies. Re: Removing the small red wire to the alternator... It is a plug in wire, but is tough to remove from under the car. Are you removing it for a reason?
Mine broke and caused low voltage problems. I had to solder it to fix it.

Re: Removing the small red wire to the alternator... It's hard to tell from the picture in the manual but it looks like the tab locks into the back of the alternator and to release you press the tab toward the alternator and pull.

Re: Removing the small red wire to the alternator... Toward the alternator huh? That will help. So it is tword the front of the car as it is mounted. Correct? Knowing which direction to push in will help.
I am removing it so I can drop my alternator for a poly motor mount install. I have to say that I have never changed a motor mount so I am kinda jittery. I am trying to be as careful as i can. The plus is this car is not my daily driver so I can take my time and quit for a while when I get stuck.

Re: Removing the small red wire to the alternator... I tried and the skill factor was higher than I could bear at the time. I cut it then extended it about 3.5 inches, enough to ease the install.
The next 'lets drop the alternator' will be substantially less trying.

Re: Removing the small red wire to the alternator... Use a small flathead screwdriver to pry up the little locking arm on the electrical connector. It'll come right off once you pry that back.
