i have true duals with an x pipe that drop down before the axle, i don't recommend doing it if you drive your car everyday. you'll have no ground clearance to speak of, but thats my two since... they do sound good though

i have 3" duals, xpipe, full size magnaflow mufflers (4x9") dumped....and i have 3-4" of clearance.

and that's with the driver side hanging lower due to a rushed weld-up job

bullets can be tucked up in the trans tunnel better...for more clearance

400 isnt bad at all of a price. most muffler shops are hacks. a performance exhaust should be mandrel bends not crush/crimp bends. this isnt your hillbilly 3rd gen or clapped out intermediate chassis car. these are performance vehicles.

a good tig welder/fabicator can do duals just like a stock exhaust is routed. George kook is perfect example of this. what he did to the 455 black trans am was amazing. under the axle just dont cut it IMHO

Here is a thread I did about my true dual exhaust. We were working with a very lowered car and still did pretty good on clearance. I have heard the bottom of the car scrape, but it has not been the exhaust, it has been the stock cross member center of the car.

I really like the tucked in, can't see the system look myself.

All you need to do is find a guy that knows what he is doing, and cares enough to do a good quality job, but you will pay more for quality like everything else in life....

trust me I've had the same problem with our custom muffler shops down here they all say there's not enough room and blah blah blah.

I have true duals on my car. Had the exhaust shop run 3" off the collectors down to 2.5" after the trans, and then over the axle on the passenger side. Then it spits off to each side with round stainless magnaflow mufflers and exits out the stock openings in the bumper. Also have an H-pipe up front for a crossover.

Mufflers were like $80 each, exhaust work was $700. So roughly $900 with everything including chrome tips.

Most muffler shops are too lazy to attempt it.
