Does a stall effect gas mileage?
If you do a lot of in town driving it will go down a good bit. If you do mostly highway driving it wont go down mutch at all. The quicker you can get it to lock up the less it will hurt your MPGs.
what he means is if you can get it to lock up by going a few mph over the limit.. do it.. depending on the size it will slaughter your gas mileage or not effect it much at all.. take into consideration further plans.. like how much nitrous you will be spraying.. the powerband of the cam you want.. and if you roll race or track race it..

my numbers are right in line with those,
ss3500 9-10mpg city
highway is relatively uneffected from what it was, 22ish
but i also made the switch from 2.73's to 3.73's at the same time, not to mention the H/C setup

My Yank PY3400 has had little effect on my mileage, its all about the stalls efficiency in the low end, I have driven a F Body with a big sloppy gas eating stall, its a different world with a "well suited" and high quality converter. I am on my first tank since stall and have 60-65 miles at the first line down from full on the fuel guage thats about what I have always gotten, 16ish-17 city. highway wont really change because of the lockup.
Also a big factor is your right foot, cant be getting on it from stops everywhere, its fun but MPG goes to ****.

With my 4K stall and 3:89's I get **** gas mileage wherever I go.. It seems even if I go for a quick tune/test drive I come back with 1/8th tank and an empty bottle of N20. Damn that **** sux!!
Some of you guys are posting unrealistic results, your 8-9MPG claims are because of your driving style and/or your shitty stall, someone is asking for real results to make a decision based on your answers. The going from 16-17 MPG in the city to 14-15 is much more realistic. It is highly dependent on your driving style, it is hard to stay out of it when you get a stall, thats why people are reporting 8-9MPG they are getting on it all the time ( it is very addictive ).

thanks ******* for calling my stall shitty.. 410 gears a 4000 stall and an ms4 will kill your gas mileage.. and no i dont have horrible driving habits.. in lock up i pull almost 20.. around town i REALISTICALLY pull right around 8-10 mpg.. it takes me 3k rpms just to get a deceant pickup...

Thats because you have a shitty stall you dumbfuck, I didnt call your stall shitty I said shitty stalls get shitty mileage, I never directed anything at you until now, idiot. My car gets rolling good by 1100 RPM and stalls around 2600 on street tires, will stall higher with sticky tires and more power, so yeah you have a inefficient at low RPM "shitty" stall.
And he didnt ask if big cams and big gears and big shitty stalls kill your gas mileage. So yeah with all that you have your mileage will suck and you also list your car as a track car so you picked a shitty cam and stall for fuel mileage, if you pick the right stall cam etc it wont hurt the mileage near as much and thats what he is asking.
And since your so offended by the shitty stall comment what kind of gold plated sent from god stall do you have?

yes....a stall affects gas mileage....affected city MPG by 2-3 MPG. highway was not affected. But then I switched to a TH400 and lost lockup....now my gas mileage is always shitty......
Get a cheap beater if you are worried about MPG.....
