[QUOTE=Jason 98 TA;10050048]Ok ChocoTaco time to put your money where your mouth is. I have the headers & engine still sitting here. The engine dyno is open a few days next week. If you can guaran-damn-tee your 1 3/4" headers will make the same power as the 1 7/8" headers then come on down. I'm not discouraged by your opinion, I'm discouraged because you have no true data to backup the claims that you guran-damn-tee other than your eye dyno...

lol ya come on down drive from jersey to texas just for this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what you are saying is that a stock ls1 with only a fast intake and long tubes made over 400 horse at the motor?

The only test between header size that would hold any real weight would be their new 1 3/4 vs their 1 7/8.I think it's interesting how designs improve over the years but unless someone independent runs the test I don't think we will see much as there is to much to lose.

The thread's ALIVE!!!

The next step in to compare a 2" header primary VS the 1 7/8" primary to see if it again increases power without loosing much down low.

Nobody really ever talks about 2" primary headers... KOOKS makes them, they have 2" primaries all the way to the collector which is 3.5"

Pacesetter, Edelbrock, QTP, Kooks, ARH, all have their place and there becomes a point where personal preference and value takes over since many probably make within 4-5hp of each other. Some people like Starbucks coffee, some like Seattle's Best coffee, and many, many more will only get McDonalds coffee. In the end its still coffee.

I have to disagree...McDonalds coffee is by far "More bang for the buck" wake me up. I'm gonna need proven test from identical size cups to think otherwise.

My car is a 1999 camaro ss a4 with bolt-ons Slp loud mouth Slp lid. Slp ram air. Black wing air filter. Smooth bellow and tb bypass. Potz pp tb. Ls6 intake and programmer what headers do I get 1/34 or 1/78 and how much will I gain with dyno tune. Any advice will be appreciated thanks guys

Go with the 1 7/8 headers. If you're like everyone else on here, you'll keep moding the car. Even if you don't, the 1 7/8 headers are still the way to go.

I'll post the results I had last spring. I swapped my old Kooks to 1 7/8" Kooks and was on the same dyno. Both dynos were after a tune with mods in sig.

I think Kooks makes 1 7/8 stepped to 2", but they also make a full 2" header. When I upgrade, it will be to the Kooks 2" headers.

There should be some good gains with those whole 2" headers. Specially with those good breathing heads you got.

That's what I'm thinking. I found out last night that ARH has 2" headers with a 4" collector. From what I'm seeing, the Kooks collector is 3.5".
