Default New Weiand Street Warrior vs Fast 92mm Manifold

I recently recieved new copy of GMHTP Magazine and Weiand has a nice ad for their new intake for LS1. Does anyone have any flow comparison or dyno #'s? They also say it is around $600.00 and has formula 1 runner design. And they Claim that the New Weiand has 30+more Hp over the LS6 Intake. Just want to get your opinions Thanks.

This Street Warrior intake is far, far too late. I've since bought a ported Fast setup (wasn't going to keep waiting) so I could care less about this intake now.

I would be really surprised if this thing makes 30RWHP over an LS6 intake. They probably got that figure by swapping intakes on a full bolt-on heads/cam car.

You won't be finding anything to back up those claims since it hasn't been released...that thing has been "coming out" forever now. With a wait like this, if it doesn't perform, their whole investment will have been for nothing. I can assure you that when it comes time for a new manifold for my car, it'll be coming from FAST.

Supposedly according to my GMHTP ad it is from: an 04 GTO 5.7L, with 1 3/4" headers, 2 1/2" exhaust, cold air intake, MAFless tune, and a Starr 84mm TB.

Now I know that headers are good for 10-20 hp. I am just curious at how much hp is the "MAFless tune" is adding to the overall power?

I wonder why they went with a speed density tune on a car that's not that far from stock. MAF-less is nice in the fact that you can eliminate any restrictions in front of the TB and it's great for big cams but kind of unnecessary on a low bolt-on car.

IIRC they used a 80mm TB also.

My car has been speed density for a LONG time, and it is still just bolt-ons only. You just have to realize how easy it is to tune my car that way to understand...one table controls ALL fueling if you do it right. Doesn't get much easier than that...

Is this the intake you are talking about? Summit Racing sells it.

True, but check the ship date...if you'll keep an eye on it for a while, you'll notice that it keeps slipping more and more into the future.

Im also one of the guys that got sick of waiting and went with a ported FAST setup, id still be curious to see this manifolds midrange against the FAST but I doubt I will be swapping intakes and im really not very confident that this manifold will make good power.

I doubt its going to gain 30rwhp over the LS6, as said in the mods list it has an 84mm TB which probably went on with the intake and they probably did the SD tune at the same time to make it look better.

I've said it before, they probably had a one off, custom prototype peice that they did in fact generate 30hp more than an ls6. But I also bet that they are having a hard time producing that intake and result for $600.

It wouldn't surprise me if they released two versions, one that is $600 and makes marginally more power than an ls6, and a second 'race' version that makes more power, but is close to double the cost.

Sorry, I didn't look at the ship date, never even paid much attention to the ship date on their website.
