How can i make my magnaflow louder?
I have pacesetter longtubes with a magnaflow catback and 2 hi flow cats. Since installing the cats the car is way to quiet for my taste. I love the sound itself of the magnaflow but I just wish it would be louder. I dont wanna put a cut out in so i was thinking more along the lines of replacing the muffler.
You guys got any ideas?

How old are the cats? My car started out quiet as ****. Now it's getting a *little* louder. My friend had the same issue with his GTO, was real quiet at first, took about the length of time for an oil change to get louder. I'm personally gonna just put a cutout before the axle and see how it goes.

My magnaflow was too quiet also so I just took it off and cut open the top side and removed most of the fiberglass packing. Then welded it back up and put it back on. Made it sound alot better. If you have a torch and wire welder then it's an easy job. Just remember to cut open the top so that way it won't be seen.

i just put the cats in like a week ago, but before that i had it with only one cat and even then it wasnt exaclty loud. the race muffler/bullet seems like a good idea. I guess what i have on there right now is the 5x8 muffler, would the 6in or 4in round mufflers make a significant difference? Also, what bullets would you guys recommend?
BTW. I am going to be getting a cam soon, but i'm looking at like a 218/224 split cam since i want the car to be a sleeper. Future plans are for H/C hopefully like 420-450rwhp and spray.

No I don't. All I can say is that I was very glad I done that because I was tired of the weak sound from the magnaflow. I have some videos on you tube but I think they were before I modded the muffler.

It was alot louder than it was with all the packing in there but not near as loud as the SLP loudmouth. Here is a video of my loudmouth after I put two bullet mufflers in the tailpipes to quiet it down. Honestly after the magnaflow mod it sounded almost just like this, just a tad tamer, not much.

Just about all of it. It took longer to get the packing out than it did to cut it open. I didn't cut a huge square out I just made one cut about 5 inches and then went up from that about 3 inches and then peeled it open. That way i could just bend the flat back down. Only had to weld three cuts that way.
