Question Cut out questions? pics and vids

Ok guys I installed some Pacesetter headers and TSP ory on my car but its not as loud as I wanted it to be. I do like the conservative rumble that it makes but i want something louder that will turn heads on a sunny afternoon without being at WOT. SO Im thinking can i install a cut out on the Y to make it louder? Second question is where on the exhaust system? and final question, will i need one or two cut outs?.. Oh and will I loose or gain power? Those anyone have pics or vids of this kind of set up thanks?

A search will answer any questions you have .. But i will help. The cutout fits perfect on the I pipe facing out towards the passenger side . (Theres a perfect area in the floorboard, like it was meant for it to go there) It will make it louder .. sounds good though. You probably sacrifice a little low end but gain tons of top end ..

Exactly. throw 1 3"cutout in the I-pipe right below right rear seat. theres a drain plug there also that you can run the wiring into car. Installing the cutout will defintiely make it louder and as stated above you will lose some low end. I didnt see much or any top end with my bolt on m6 SS but it sure sounds mean. Im running pacesetters thru TSP catted y(gutted) to GMMG.

i have the oposite delema you have i installed the same set up as you but i have a custom single exit slp lm2 exhaust and sound great at wot and idle but has certain rpm's where it dont sound good(sort of like an old pick up lol)
i do have a 3in single in/out magnaflow that's from the same line as there catbacks but it wont have and tips under the bumper just 1 hidden tip so ill be close to the same set up as you.
im going to get a qtp electric cut out in a month or so and put it under the right rear seat(if you look under the car you will see where it goes) for the track and when i want to be loud.
i honestly dont like the car real loud when the fam is with me(im used to the quietness of my 04 escalade and my 03 e500 benz so i guess in spoiled lol)
if you want vids go to www.ls1sounds.com
and you can also go to youtube and type in ls1 cutout and you will find some video's but a car will allways sound a little different in person.

If you have a straight through muffler you wont see that much gains .. But i had a flowmaster 3" catback and still gained 21rwhp going through the cutout on the dyno...

Also your muffler would have to be in the back .. Cant run a cutout if you have a resonator/muffler in the I pipe ..

There's a big gap underneath the rear passenger's seat. That's where you'll want to put the cutout. Single cutout in the I-pipe is best IMO. Here's what it looks like:

It gets pretty loud though. Nothing ridiculous with the stock cam, but still pretty loud.

a lot of people have had good luck with the street pro cutouts as well. I have the QTP Dual Cutout y-pipe and am considering just going to a regular ORY with a magnaflow muffler and a street-pro in the i-pipe by the axle. the qtp's have been really finicky.

Yeah, after the wiring fell down and melted on the y pipe I couldn't really return them so I just repaired them myself about 6 times each so far. Was never the motor just the set screws and such coming loose or falling out. Ended up just welding them this last time. I thought about swapping them out for the DMH cutouts but that's not gonna solve the problem with fresh air getting to the O2 sensors causing an insufficient switching code.
