Default Scam or good deal?

Ok i was talking to a tuner shop today i told them i planed to re do my exshust and needed the parts to do it.The guy asked what kinda car/exshust i got and asked about any mods as usual. I told him i had stock Y-Pipe no cpu tune up or anything but i was planing on X-Piping exshust and 1.700 Pacesetter exshust headers. He told me he can get me all of the parts and install it for 800-900$ and i was thinking with the X-flow system i would gain around 10~20hp due to how it creates a mass suction that pretty much sucks out the exshust from your motor. It sounds like a good deal to me and all im set on it then he tells me he can dyno/tune my car for an extra 250$ and instead of me gaining 10-20hp i would turn around and gain 50-65hp instead. So im very very sceptical about this whole thing im no expert but it sounds like hes trying to scam me..... any input on this? if its possiable ill go trough with it all 1050-1150$ for 50-65hp? hell yea

Your not going to see 50-65 more hp. ^^^ what he said. Also find out if this guy has tuned a lsx engine before. I wouldn't let just any one tune my car.

Yea, I would be leery of that guy. Do some more research before pulling the trigger on that.

Yea... im just gonna let him do the exshust kit... Also hes worked on mainly LT1 and LS1 vehicles. He also told me if i need parts he can usually beat craigslist or summit. For the price he charges for the tune i can spend 150 more and get the laptop tuner i was checking out thats universle for most all GM cars from 98+. Which is good concidering parked at my house is a 2005 Avalance 99 Serria SLE and my Camaro. Can ya tell i come from a huge GM family? lol

If you are getting the headers, a custom exhaust installed along with a dyno tune than $1k isn't out of line when you add up the parts, labor and dyno time -IF it is a reputable shop. Ask for some customer referrals. If he's a stand up guy he shouldn't have a problem with that, especially considering the amount of money at stake.

Cool Cool. If he has to big of an issue with it ill raise my shirt and show 1 really big reason not to **** with me also i looked up all of the parts i was getting he said he can get them cheaper then most websites due to mass stock/ordering methods. all of the parts he said he could just sell me for 700-800$ but theres a 100$ instlation fee but i wouldent know where to start on installing exshust so ill let them do it so i get a warrenty

im usually a nice guy but if he trys to rip me off ill have no problem putting a 40cal fragmented hallow point in his knee cap lol
