I didn't notice a diff around town. Haven't been back to the track with current mods (lid, LS6 intake, Pro 5.0).

I picked up 3 tenths and 4 MPH after adding an LS6 intake, P&P TB, and a tune. Conditions at the track were very comparable for both runs. Hard to say how much I gain just from the LS6, but I'm going to assume I picked up 30 rwhp or less with the three mods. Car has LT's, LM1, and a lid. Of course the tune alone could have been half of that gain being that I had LT's, and the LS6 and TB might have been the other half or roughly 15 hp, but thats all just my guess.

OK visited the track after lid and LS6 manifold. The clutch is slipping more but I picked up 1mph anyway (106.6 -> 107.55). Obviously I need to replace the clutch to put the power down, but I think a ported TB would help get more air into the manifold. That will probably be my next mod.

I bought an intake off an 05 vette. I was told it will not work on my ls1 because of the throttle body any suggestions?

I went with the powderpro, he did a really good port job on the TB and was very up front, honest, and easy to deal with. I felt a solid improvement so to me it was $65 very well spent.

I saw .5mph and .05 et improvement from the LS6 intake while still on manifolds. I believe that they have worked synergistically with my headers, though, to provide stronger overall gains.

I saw nothing at the track from my ported TB. Both the ported TB and the LS6 helped a lot with responsiveness and general driveability. I would do them both again, no question.

It seems like the general consensus on the board is that the handported offers little to no gains except in throttle response. I almost want to try the cnc'd one for the claimed gains but it does cost quite a bit more...

I would think that the more mods you have to the car, the bigger the difference would be. Since, you increase flow everywhere else, you will reach a point where the LS1 would hold the motor back more and more. On a stock motor not as much.

You are correct. You will see much improved throttle response & some low-end power but really no peak gains with a good hand ported TB (we have been doing ported LS1 TB's at RevXtreme since inception), but the CNC design was a long time in development and several patterns were tested first on the flow-bench and then in our climate controlled enclosed dyno before the end design was chosen. We have seen gains as high as 14 rwhp going from a stock to the CNC'd, but 6-8 is the norm depending on mods. Of course good heads/cam will show it the most.

The good hand ported ones in the $60-$80 range available on here are well worth the $$, but for overall power the $129 exchange for a soild proven 6-8 rwhp is a bargain per dollar spent.
