the #5 wall looked great, minus some flash rust from sitting for 2+ months with water in the chamber  other than that we dont know. Tomorrow were tearing it down to bare block and are going to have a better look/sent out for a better check if we see nothing

the sleeve could be seeping water in from the top or tiny pin hole in the liner, or a crack in the head. did you check the intake runners for cracks?

It is an intake issue. Cure is to run a bit richer and if shooting Nitrous to either be rich or direct port. Some poeple (including myself) put a higher flowing injector there as well. I haven't had an issue since.
It is a very common issue, much less apparent in stock form since the tune is pig rich. Once you fine tune for cams etc.. it surfaces more frequently.

I knew you'd post back.then explain why the same 2 cylinders are the leanest when the intake is put on backwards?IE that would make them the 1st cylinders near the TB which would receive the least air flow?People have the same problem when a Fast is put on the car or a carb style intake which is supposed to "distribute airflow evenly"

Do you have a link for that test data/info? I'd like to read that.

FAST is basicaly same design enhanced and I have never heard or read anything about a single plane doing the same thing.
As for that test, I am curious as to how they measured AFR in 2 cylinders only.
You could measure left/right banks but just 2 cylinders they had to have widebands or other sensors in every header primary.

Do you have a link to that test? I'm curious to read it.

If as you say the heads and gasket are OK that doesn't leave much, but a tiny pin hole in a sleeve is going to fill a jug to the brim.

they seemed to be fine, there was definatly no noticable out of the ordinary things. we can see where the pieces off the pistons bounced off the valves, but everything is still intact and there were no places in the gasket/on the head/on the block that looked they had leaked thru

we tore the block down today and couldnt see anything at all... were sounding it out next week to an engine machinist to see and then its full out from there to see what kinda build im going to have to tackle

When they pulled the plugs cylinder 5 was full of water and i started it right after it happened and it just shot white smoke forever so it was classic head gasket symptoms, until we opened it up.
