the same thing happen to me last year, i had replaced the head gasket twice and even went back to my stock heads, didnt help, ended up having a hair line crack between the cylinder wall and the water jacket. i was told it can be fix but i found a ls6 block for a deal so i went to that.

same thing just happened to me on my stock ls1 i had an sts kit on piston broke in almost the same place and my wall had a huge crack from top to bottom on the side where the water jacket is.

Did you ever notice a leak before this happened? Is it possible your coolant was low and you never noticed? It is possible that the leak, (crack or pin hole), happened after the detonation and damage to your motor from the intense heat. It is also possible that the leak had let enough coolant to escape to cause the detonation and destroy those cylinders. Hopefully, your mechanic can diagnos the problem so it does not happen to your new motor, such as fittings, hoses, heater core etc.. My point is, look for the inobvious just in case. We have found the damndest things at our shop over the years. Hopefully it is something obvious and you can put this behind you. Good Luck on the 427.

Isn't a result of the intake, and the tune with having too much air and not enough fuel?

I've been good. I have had everything working right for a pretty long time now. Car runs reall good on/off the bottle. But its a beast on the bottle

Same thing happened to me 2 months ago I've still yet to tear into the motor but its out of the car and my head is all chewed up from it and the cylinder wall has a good crack in it to the water jacket.

yea the bottom of my valves look like they had a bunch of pissed off bee's in them but no holes



motor gets sent friday to a machinist, should know by next week. Ill let you al know more as i go along and find things out too
