Saving for some headers... Need inputs.
Hey guys, I'm looking for the best bang for the buck here. My Z is my first hotrod, so I want to treat her right. So what do y'all recommend?

i recommend QTP b/c they are stainless, good quality and not quite as expensive as kooks or ARH. i run them on my car and they fit well with no tapping or rubbing.
Hooker also is a good option to check out for a decent price.
if you want cheap and painless id say go pacesetters. seem to be the best bang for the buck, but be weary they will rust after a while

Well, like was mentioned, just about any of the stainless headers would be a good choice, but they are $$$. Personally, I like the Edelbrock stepped headers (1-3/4" - 1-7/8"). This is my 2nd set of headers, and the fit, quality, performance & price is great.
Ive always been a fan of QTP, but i got LPP for free as a gift and havent had any problems, but definatley go stainless

I went stainless to avoid rust. You will find more folks posting about headers in the external engine room:

Don't rule out the TSP 1 7/8" long tubes. They made more power than the 1 3/4" headers on the engine dyno even on a stock motor! Here's some links:
The 1 7/8" headers made a peak hp of 414.x hp & 421lb ft while the 1 3/4" headers made 408hp & 419 lb ft of torque. While this isn't a huge difference, it definately shows that even on a basically stock car the larger headers are still a good investment! Power under the 4800rpm point was virtually identical! Infact the 3000 rpm numbers were 209hp 366 tq from the 1 3/4" headers & 209hp 359.9 tq!

Guys, he said bang for the buck. Paying twice as much for Kooks/AR/QTP over Pacesetter/Hooker is hardly the best bang for the buck. DTR, do a search for Pacesetter and you will find many many satisfied customers. They arent stainless, but they do have cermaic coating which will last plenty long. They are one of, if not THE best fitting header I have installed on an F-body, and Ive installed many sets of headers. Best of all, they can be bought for under $400.
