It is not to big. I've never had it but I'm sure it is ok. I would look around more before you jump into any cam.

Who's 236 cam is that? you can use it on a stock head, remember that these heads flow a lot better than old school SBC heads from the factory. I would mate either one of those cams up with a set of Patriot gold dual springs. Also do you know what set of lobes that 236 cam is on?

Well posting the brand of cam would help, or like said the cam lobe specs are equally as important.

Not the best cam if you have to have a shelf cam the F1 is probably a better choice with a beehive spring NOT a duel spring setup.

the F1 is a reverse split? eeewww... don't buy that. I have no idea who thought it was a good idea to run a reverse split on an LS engine. I can't think of a single instance it would be the choice cam.

Yeah you can, I would recommend the Pac 1218 spring package though over the Comp 918's. Set the install height up properly and you should have a setup that's reliable and makes good power.

I personally have not ran a reverse split cam; but TR's 230 cam is a 230/224 on a 111 and there has been a bunch of cars have great success with it. I think that MTI also had good success out of reverse split cams. That's just to name a couple. I believe that Predator Z is also a firm believer in the the TR 230, may be wrong though. Anyway, to the original poster, Good luck and there's several happy people with the F1!
