Default About the SLP Lid

Just wondering if I could simply order the SLP lid and install it with no lights coming up on my dash or anything. I'm a real newb here and just want to make sure that the mass air flow sensor plugs right in? If that makes any sense.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, you should have no problems at all. The hardest part is swapping the IAT while trying to be careful (but thats not even hard). There shouldn't be any ses lights as long as all the sensors are pluged in. Just install and go! Goodluck

Nah youre good to go. You dont even have to unplug the battery while you unplug the sensors, but a lot of people do it out of habit

Ok sounds easy enough. Only question is (keep in mind ME= NEWB lol) what is the IAT? Sounds like I SHOULD know what that is but can't seem to think of it. Hmmmmm. Also, how many ponies is this lid good for over the stocker one? Just curious.

5-10 ponys stock but the best first mod. A must to get the most out of future mods.

Iat- idle air temperature. Small sensor in lid on DS. Can't miss it. Just be careful not to tear the little rubber gasket it mounts in when you pull it out

thats fwhp, rwhp will be half that or at least was in my experience, you'll notice more gains with exhaust and intake but i'd wait on the intake untill and if you decide on heads or cam especially since you have a LS6 intake anyway . . . didn't most of the firehawks come with the blackwing lid anyway??????

just use pliers to rip out the noise reduction fins in the stock piece and a sand smooth the rest. Not only does it look stock but you can put your money into pulleys or something like that. theres two chambers left right before the MAF. i guess you could fill them with something that solidifies. lol

Thats the cheap *** method anyway : P
