Exclamation What Cam Is Better For Me?????

Ok well i am looking for a cam at this current time and cant decide which one i should choose. I want a driver friendly cam since it is my dd but want that radical cam sound with the 112 lsa. I am tryin to break into the 400+ rwhp range with a cam and the mods i already have. But i want my car to pull out of the gate and keep pullin the whole way through the rpm range. My mods are TSP 1 7/8 long tube headers, TSP true duals with dynomax bullet mufflers, LS1 motorsports lid, SLP Mass Air, and a Textrallia Z grip disk. So far the cams i have looked at are TSP MS3 cam, Vengeance Racing Vindicator, and some Thunder Racing cams. What is best for what i want?

Doesnt everyone?? Haha....

If all you want to do is break 400rwhp and have great power throught the whole powerband.... Go with a TR224 cam. Everyone has great results with that setup and great track times to back it up.

Another great cam is a cam that Va Speed has.... A 22x-23x .6xxlift 111lsa. Something to consider.

I am running the polluter in my daily driven Z06 over 60 mile's of stop and go 5 days a week. Car pulls great from 2000 rpm. Has a little surge under 1500 rpm but pretty livable. put down 433 rwhp.

Our 230/224 111 would be a great choice for your M6 car. It gives nothing up to the 224/224 112 but picks up an additional 10-15 HP up top. Sounds bad *** too...

Thanks,
Shane

+1 just the cam i was gonna recommend has the same characteristics of a 224 but with better top end. it has excellent "around town" mannors and on 111 lsa it would sound mean as all get out.

I am in the same situation, But I have an Auto and will buy a converter at the same time. With a cam like the 230/224 111 what would a nice set of heads do for the setup.

Just put in a 23x/23x cam and Yank SS3600 stall and the car is pulling real hard.
Specific's on the cam is a TTP Equalizer V.3. Specs are proprietory, but it's in the mid 230's on a 112LSA.

Car sounds badass with the lope. Even with stock exhaust manifolds.

Sounds like the Polluter is right up your alley.

While everyone's throwing out their favorite camshaft as a suggestion, if you'd like to call or PM us with some more details on the car and more specific goals we'd be more than happy to recommend a cam that will suit your application best! We've got all the related parts you need to complete the job at very competitive prices too.

Keep in mind, what's right for others on the board might not be right for you. The big camshafts may not be what you want and need to drive every day. 400rwhp can be had from relatively small camshafts with the proper combination of bolt-ons and valve events

Matt's right give us a call. We have engine dyno testing on a lot of our camshaft as well as some others your considering. I think we can help you decide a camshaft that's best for your application.

I agree with TSP here, best thing to do is talk to someone about your goals and needs.

We offer customer ground Comp cams speced to the customers needs. Last thing you want is to go with a big cam and hate driving your car for the lack of low end tq and hp.

Thunder, TSP, myself and the other vendors can help you make an informed decision based on your needs, not a popularity contest.

Sounds like me when I started looking for my cam. I went with a 232/234 on 112 lsa from race proven motorsports. Its a great cam and I daily drive my car because its my only car. Its a great balance of lowend tq and its pulls hard to 6800. Plus I still get 25 hwy mpg!!

Im also looking to upgrade my cam. My cam now is the LG G5-X2 great cam, it got me in the 400+rwhp but the power band is to high for me. its great for freeway racing with crazy top end power. But now im all about the track. so im look for a good cam to help me at the track and still give me great power all round.
