Default Head gasket question

Just wondering if there are different gaskets for passenger side and driver side head?

The guy at autozone said that they were the same for a 1999 ls1

Need to know before i finish replacing gaskets

Wouldn't they need to be different for the coolant holes to line up it because looks like the sides are different on the gasket or do you just line the words "front" up with the front of the engine??

Well how come on ls1howto it shows a part number for a passenger side gasket then a different one for the driver side head? But also on just the head swap (not the head/cam swap one) it has just one part number for both head gaskets??

Because the ones you get from AutoZone are aftermarket. On LS1howto I think they're using GM gaskets. There is one GM part number for the driver side, one GM part number for the passenger. So if you need to order just one of them, you use the part number for the single gasket. But if you want a set (both driver and passenger sides), GM has a part number for the set also.

FelPro, which are the gaskets I got from Advanced Auto, makes them so that they are identical for each engine side.

Make sense?

Ok well the ones I got were fel-pro and on one side it has the fel-pro logo all over it and the other side is just one color and if you have the word "front" facing the front of the engine it on both sides then the logo on one side will be up and on the other it will be down so i wasn't sure if this was right or not.

Thanks for the help
