i got my ls2 gears and chain as a set, for piece of mind bc my motor had 100k. also, the melling 295 is not a high pressure unit its a standard pressure unit. its basically a factory replacement. i swapped mine even though i had good oil pressure to start and it ended up being about the same with the new pump.

correct, becuase its regulated to have same as stock psi
the other pump is equipped with a higher pressure spring and suppose to mover more volume and psi

Was gonna run last night for Freaky Friday and developed a miss at 5k. Been waitin to pick up some used DR's cause first gear is useless even with a roll in throttle. I will try to figure this out today and prolly run at T & T next Thursday even if it is on street tires.

I used stock MLS GM gaskets for my heads and I used 7.425" pushrods at the advice of TSP when I was talking with them on the phone and haven't had any issues at all. As stated, picked up a LS2 chain only and replaced my trays while I was in there too. I did pony up for the ARP Head Studs, but that was just me being paranoid and everything else. Ported LS6 oil pump topped everything off. Alas I have no times at the track since all my money went into H/C/I that my factory clutch is soggy as angel hair pasta right now. I will remedy that next season, I hope.
