Installing heads and cam on a 2002 camaro with 54,000 mile what should I replace
I am getting the parts together t odo my heads and cam install on my 2002 camaro ss with 54,000 miles on it. I will be installing the PRC stage 2.5 5.3 unmilled heads that have the prc dual springs. I am pretty much leaning towards the torquer 3 cam. I need to know what all gaskets to get and what head gaskets I should use. This will be going on a stock ls1 with 54,000 miles. Here are the parts I plan on ordering or already have please let me know what else I am missing or should replace.
Already have ls7 lifters on the way
ls1 or ls2 lifter trays (Which should I get?)
Hardened pushrod (7.400?)
new ls2 timing chain (should I get just the chain or the complete set?)
Mellings 10295 high pressure oil pump ( The 10296 is probably an over kill and I heard there are clearance issues)
Head bolts (should I get stock or ARp head bolts?)
New ballancer bolt
Head gaskets (Need to know which ones to get)
I need a list of the other gaskets also with part #s if possible.

ls1 or ls2 lifter trays (Which should I get?)doesnt matter, just get which ever are cheaper.
Hardened pushrod (7.400?)measure, measure, measure.
new ls2 timing chain (should I get just the chain or the complete set?) just the chain.
Mellings 10295 high pressure oil pump ( The 10296 is probably an over kill and I heard there are clearance issues)
Head bolts (should I get stock or ARp head bolts?)go with stock unless you plan fi or changing again.
New ballancer bolt
Head gaskets (Need to know which ones to get)stock mls are the best.

Your list looks pretty good except for the pump. Your car is an 02 (already has the upgraded LS6 pump) and not enough miles to worry about changing it. It can't hurt by any means, but I wouldn't worry about it if it was me.
A few gaskets I would keep handy...
-Front timing cover/crank seal..This is the seal that sits behind the pulley, not the actual gasket that mates to the motor
-Set of Water pump gaskets (these tend to come apart when you take the WP off)
-High temp RTV sealant..Throw some in the bottom left/right corners where the front cover & oil pan meet, before you reinstall it.

Replace the seal on the timing cover. Many times you can reuse the water pump gasket, but I would never reuse an intake gasket no matter how good it looked. The head gaskets are a no brainer. Have a complete gasket set on hand just in case. Better to have them and not need them than the converse. Also have a couple of spare spring retainer locks. During the process of removing and then reinstalling 16 springs it's real easy to drop one. You need to spread shop rags over the heads during this process unless you'll be doing the spring swap on the work bench.

LS7 lifters at least, Morels if you have deep pockets
They say LS2s are stronger, my stock ones are holding up just fine.
7.4 may be ok but its best to measure once you have it together to be sure.
LS2 chain, id get the set, picked mine up for under $70, cant beat it.
ID run a 10295, 10296 is too much IMO.
ARP head bolts! Torque to yeild are a pain and ARPs are reusable.
Always new ballancer bolt, I used a GM one but ARP wouldnt be bad.
Cometics for sure, look inot what your compression ratios would be, stay below an 8.6 Dynamic and you will be good, ive been tols to spray them with copper gasket also.
You will need timing cover gasket, intake gaskets, header gaskets, front seal(seals around the ballancer), oil pump and water pump, the seals for the cross tube on top of the heads would be good to have or a tube of silicone to help seal the old ones.
Not everything is vital but its the best way to do it.

I really don't know for sure if the oil pump in a 2002 is that much better than a 1999 ls1 but I do know for the $100 I can get a new Melling 10295 pump for its money well spent to know that I have a good oil pump in the car that shouldn't fail any time soon.

I wouldn't say you need the whole timing set when you can buy just the ls2 chain for $32. You don't need to go with the arp bolts if you're not running forced injection or nitrous and if you don't plan on removing the heads. The stock bolts are like $50 buck compared to the over $100 for the arp's. Also the stock mls gaskets are fine too if you're not planning on F/I or Nitrous. That's just my .02
