Darren, Predator definitely knows his ****. I would also give Patrick G a call. He spec'd me out a cam for my WS6 a few months back. The only reason I didnt go with it is cuz I got a killer deal on my TR224. I also wanted to stay small cuz I have my eye on a set of 5.3 heads and my car is 100% street. I wont be getting them for a while, but planning ahead is always a good idea. Thats the only reason I told you to wait to do the cam when you have the heads...or at least know what heads you will be going with. Since your car is a street car, you will probably be looking at a 5.3 head for higher compression, and keep your ports small for torque. Ask any cam guru...spend all your time and money choosing the best heads..then spec out your cam. Keep your duration at or below 230, and dont go too crazy on your lift. The main idea is to stay small to moderate with your cam and live off of the heads. So did you give Predator your driving habits and goals? Thats a big key in cam recommendation. Anyway, Im pretty stoked you will be back next month. Like I said before, dinner and drinks are on me!! Also, you know where to bring your car for the install

God bless ya jamie, thier are only afew times in my life i have been this happy, and two of those reasons are growing up without me right now, but next month that changes, i cant wait to leave this place. Ive left the U.S. before, and i thought then that i was done, but **** happens right. Anyway, back too the car, i know that it will be a very long time before i can buy the heads i want, and you should know, this car is turning into a car that i care less and less about when it comes too street manners and im becoming more concerned with track times, in-fact me and the wife will be looking for a beater for me to drive to work when i get back. Im already thinking about a 12 bolt and an FLT tranny for when my **** breaks. I just want what i never could have, and always drooled over, a ******* nasty F-body, that people turn to watch go down the strip at the track. Its go time now!

thats ****** sick man. You have an SS4000 and just cam for internals and thats your time? Wow, i didnt think it was possible to break ****** 10s with a cam only set-up. you have a couple more bolt-ons than me, but i have the same stall waiting at home for me, and from the looks of it, i want to have that cam too!

yeah my setup is pretty maxed out...it runs really good...check this list out for cam only cars i am actually barely on it haha but and the only one with a mid sized cam 230/230

https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-raci...cars-list.html

look at my 60ft gotta go pretty far up the list to match that...the 230/230 cam and ss4000 are perfect for each other...the tq is what gets it off the line

I just ordered the same cam. I will be using it with a set of unmilled PRC stage 2.5 5.3 heads and a fast 92/92 setup in an a4 with a Circle d 3800 4c converter. I can't wait to get it to gether.

ok, so shawn@Vaspeed recommended a reverse split cam, aying it will work better for my car since its an 02, and he said the 230/230 is better suited for a 98-00 car. I dont discount what he says, ive been to the track with his 7 second camaro and been to his extremely nice shop where alot of my friends work. What do you think about this pred?

That's not a reverse split. Neither is the 230/230.
You do know you'll need valve springs too, right? Just makin sure you don't think cam only is cam ONLY.

I do not agree, Chris's car is a 02.
and by the way my 230/230 is a reverse at certain lifts and standard on others (reason why it makes so much trq early on).
There is more to a cam than .050 specs

yeah, i do know that i need more than just a cam. Anyway, i just want to be making the best decision here and shawn knows his ****. Anyway, i just want to be clear, the cam that chris has, he really is just cam only right, i mean without heads, cause the times he posts are friggin impressive. i was just looking for 11s but it looks like bottom of 11s high 10s on his setup. I just cant wait to get home.

Yes cam only, stock heads + nice bolt ons (QTP headers, cutout, ported TB,home made Ram Air) look for his thread it is all listed.
As I said before, duplicate his setup and you'll get similar results.

ok, so im state-side now, got back to the states on christmas eve and it feels good. So down to bussiness. I dug up this thread cause ive decided i want a nasty cam AND im just gonna save for heads, i want close to 450rwhp, and i have an SS4000 im getting ready to install, so ive got plenty of stall. So the cam that pred reccommeneded, (230/230 .612/.592 111+2 LSA) is this a cam that with proper heads, could give me my goal, and with that said, which heads? thanx alot fellas, i really appreciate all the help.
