Hmmm,... buyer beware... you might like your new 918s after 3K miles of beating with a lowly R1 cam in a 422.

...another person on this board broke a comp cam spring today after 1K miles...see his post....

.....kinda proves my point - this company does not have any quality control procedures...

..buyer beware!
I find it strange how you think that Comp springs are the only ones to break. I've seen Lunati REVs break, Cranes break, and ISKYs break...all in these engines. Shoot, I've seen stock springs break before. It happens and its unfortunate, but to bash Comp about quality control is ludacris.

Gomer, did you get your install done today? If so, how did it go? Could you tell an increase in noise with the new valvetrain? Does it seem to rev more freely, since you don't have to push all that mass?

My non-Blue Stripes have been holding up well. Replacing with Blue Stripes with new engine from MTI shortly, going into my Patriot LQ9's.

The 941 failures were much worse and in greater #.
Perhaps the 918's singles caused more damage tho.

I would run the 918's up to .590 lift.
