Tap it on the sides with a rubber mallet it should wiggle loose w/o damage.

If you get all the bolts out, it ought to practically fall off...

shouldnt take much for it to come off. make sure you get ALL the bolts. There are 2 long bolts at the back of the pan, make sure you get them.

there is not much room with the kmember even if all the bolts are off . remove the bolts in the engine mounts . take a jack with a block of wood and place it where the balancer goes and slowly jack it up some . also if the intake is on it may get in the way . just make sure you are very careful .
this should give you enough room to do what you need . i was able to get the number 8 lifters off a car using this method . they were on top of the windage tray which is above the oil pan and still there is not much room .

the pan should just fall off once bolts are removed. if clearance is an issue i just unbolted the cradle and lowered it down about 5 or 6 inches and it came right off. i wouldnt pry on anything very much if at all. those pans WILL break

I would do what GM WORLD CLASS said , drop the K member , just six bolts on the K member and four sway bar bolts , two motor mount bolts, and doun i come, just support the engine

Whats the best way to support the motor? A block of wood on the balancer? Doesnt seem like the best way to do it to me, correct me if im wrong. I gotta change my oil pan gasket soon.... Also do you have to remove the shock tower bolts?

well i work at a shop so i used engine support j-tool that sits above the engine. (not helpful sorry) a screw jack or jack stand under the balancer would work, just pat attention to whats goin on to be sure nothing is being damaged. those gaskets are metal and tough rubber. they should not have to be replaced every time removed. that is unless you are leaking.

Yeah mine is leaking, so I gotta change it out. So let me clarify: Jack up engine from the balancer with a piece of wood/ unbolt motor mounts/loosen (or remove?) 6 K-member bolts/ jackstand under balancer... Is this all that needs to be done? Im just confused about how to support the entire motor, would jacking it up from the tranny bellhousing and a jackstand under the balancer be more stable?

My other question was rod bolts. Some people say if the pans off just change them, some people say you cant change them without doing the whole rod.... whats the truth being this?

And btw sorry to the OP for hijacking your thread lol... hope you found this useful
