Question F-14 Cam A4 or M6?

Is the F-14 camshaft from Futral Motorsports designed more for a M6 or is it an A4 friendly Cam? My buddy has it in his car and he has a 6 speed and I wonder if it is the right cam to put into a 383 stroker. I love the way that came lopes and it just sounds right in my opinion. I appreciate the input....

That cam is a little small for a 383 stroker, but will work fine in an A4 on a 114 LSA.

Whichever cam you pick needs to be on a 114, not a 112.

Why couldn't it be on a 112LSA? My buddy is using this same cam in a highlift on a 112LSA in a 2001 Formula A4 unstalled. I to Agree that you could use a little bigger cam for a 383 stroker but to each his own.. You could look at Allens F-15 cam. It should be a little closer to what you need. My cam is just a worked up F14 high lift cam. Specs are 234/236-646/612-114LSA

It is a smaller cam for a 383. If you want something similar to the F14 in stock cubes try the Futral 239/243. I ran it for a while in my 383 with good results.

The F14 can definitely be used on an A4. You would want to make sure you have enough gear and converter though. Like stated before it would need to be on a 114 LSA. As far as the 383 goes that cam is a little small for that motor. We did have pretty good luck with the 239/243 cam in mark's car like stated above. If you would like for us to custom grind something for you just give me a call at the shop and I can work something up for you.

I would certainly make sure you have a good size stall for that cam.

Not sure what happened to my post last night but I'll try again

Cam in in sig 111+2 a4 car.Same intake duration and 2* less on exhaust than f14. Went 111 cause I didn't wanna spin too high and wanted bottom end sooner. Other than being a bit bitchy at cold start this cam is perfect for a DD. Why do so many recomend a higher LSA for a4 cars.

I won't ask a sponser his opinion this time so maybe it won't get deleted

I'm running a F-13 on a 114 LSA. It is sick! I think my engine builder advanced it 4*, because it peaks at 5500 rpm! I need to get back down to Futral and have him check it out. I want some more rpm! I'm running a 2600 stall and 3.90 gears and a 30" stock size tire and it launches hard, but all it does is spin. It did the same thing with the stock 1600 stall. I need to do an idle relearn, because I left the battery disconnected for a week or so. Before that it was very very driveable, still had a noticeable lope through the cats/mufflers. With the cut-outs open, it sounds mean as hell and has a nice lope.

well I just ordered a performabuilt level 2 4L60E with a billet 3500 stall. I love the way the F-14 is and I think for a 383 that I want to have decent street manners with the F-14 might be just right.

glad your putting a well built tranny and the 3500 is a good overall size stall, especially for a daily driver.

nothing wrong with running a 112 LSA cam in an A4. i have a 112 on my A4 with no issues at all.

F14 on 112, A4, Fuddle 3600 stall, 3.42 gears - actually quite streetable once I got the VE tables squared away and the TC lockup set up properly.
