Previous stage 1 heads had stock replacement springs like the drop-in Comp 918s. These MTI custom springs require the heads to be machined to fit them, and have a proprietary MTI-designed titanium retainer. The same components used on their Stage 2R heads. The exhaust valves are also different shaped. Prices also went down.

keep in mind that there are some MTI Stage 1 heads/cam cars out there into the 420-430 rwhp range, so its not like those were bad heads either.

What is the variance of cfm from port to port? How close are the ports? Are there any guarentees that each port is within so many cfm? Just really curious about your hand porting versus cnc machines.
