MS3 vs MS4
TSP XS Series Camshaft:
Magic Stick V.3 237/242 .603/.609" Camshaft With Your Choice of Lobe Seperation.
The Magic Stick V3 camshaft is Texas Speed's premier LS1 camshaft! This camshaft has gone as fast as 10.50s n/a with stock heads in our 98 Z28 test car.
This camshaft features Comp Cams XER lobes! The XER lobes have been proven to make big horsepower & torque thanks to their aggressive ramp rates & healthy lift.
2300-6800 RPM Power Band with a peak around 6400rpm; This is an excellent performance camshaft with a rough idle! Custom tuning required
This camshaft typically gains approximately 55+rwhp!
Magic Stick V.4 239/242, .649"/.609" Camshaft With Your Choice of Lobe Seperation (111 LSA Standard)
The Magic Stick V4 camshaft is Texas Speed's premier LS1 camshaft!
The MS4 camshaft is the result of extensive engine dyno testing & research! Engine dyno results have shown over 80 horsepower gains with no other changes on a stock 2001 LS1 engine!!
2300-6800 RPM Power Band with a peak around 6400rpm; This is an excellent performance camshaft with a rough idle! Custom tuning and PRC dual valve spring kit required
This camshaft typically gains approximately 60+rwhp!
The above is from TSP's website. I think they provide all the info needed to make this decision. A cam swap for 5hp? That's sure not worth in my book. Add in how much harder the faster LSK like lobes are on the valve train than the XE-R's lobes and hassle of more frequent spring changes...there's no way I would go from a MS3 to a MS4. I couldn't careless what it sounds like. Get a cutout or tweak the tuning by droping the idle speed if your looking for a nasty sounding car.

Yeah ask for help and act like an a hole,is that really called for,I mean your asking opinions about 2 cams correct well I will becareful on what I write lol, the ms3 is a great cam but it will run a lot better with a high gear ratio, and n20. If you do those 2 things you would be happy with what you have

Not saying this would happen to you but when i went from the LG Motorsport g5x3 to the g5x4 cam i only gained 5hp for all the money and work. The car didn't go faster and i was putting more stress on the valve springs for a 5hp gain. Going bigger does not always mean more gain. it seems you really are not moving enough to see a gain.
