Valvetrain break in.

Just as the title says. After installing a new cam and new valves do you need to brake the parts in slow to prevent damage? Also when braking in other parts such as a turbo or lower rotating assembly is it better to use a none synthetic oil to allow the parts to wear properly?

i was told to NOT use synthetic on the break in.....

i eventually never switched back either....have a melling with the high spring in it running castrol 10w40 never less than 45-50 psi over 50 at wot

It's a roller cam so drive it like there are blue lights behind you

Totally different than the old sbc tappet cams........

I just give it a couple hours of really easy driving. Then let it sit untill its totally cold. I believe after one heat cycle you are good to go. I think if anything needs break in its the valve springs.

It's hydraulic roller so heat cycle it if you want and then let er rip. My whole new motor had a total of 2 miles on it before we thrashed it on the dyno.
