what cam for stock exquast system
Stock 04 gto ls1 M6 going into a 33 ford hotrod that weights about 2200#'s
Don't need a lot of hp to make it run at that low weight. Problem is the space is tight and LT's are out of the question so will have to use the stock exquast manifolds or at best basic shortie headers. I want to make this a very nice driver-good milage and good emmissions. Also it looks like the exquast will also be limited to 2-1/4" pipes also due to some frame limitations.
Am I best just keeping the stock cam givin the limitations or is there any cam out there that works well with stock exquast.
Thanks,
Brian

I'd look at a GT2-3 cam 207/220 .571/.578 118.5
Extensive engine dyno testing at Lingenfelter has produced some of the best street camshaft profiles available for the LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6 engines. The Lingenfelter "GT2-3" camshaft was designed to produce excellent power while still maintaining a smooth idle for automatic or six speed manual transmission equipped vehicles that can be daily driven. Tests on the LS1-GT2-3 have shown 25-30 HP improvements over factory LS1, LS2 camshafts and this camshaft can be used in 350 CID - 427 CID applications.
It was designed with stock manifolds. Most folks will mention cams a lot bigger so I'll toss a "small" cam out there.

i would find some shorty headers or maybe some mid lengths will fit.
the cam i have in my z28 passed smog without a problem and i drive it 3-4 times a week.
it is a 218/224 .555/.556 115+4 LSA. perfect street manners and you can barely tell its there. with that cam, shorty headers and a ls6 manifold i dyno'd at 370hp and 390tq to the ground.
